Chipset & Internal Topology
The TC46 uses a multi-chip architecture to manage high-speed data and video concurrently:
· Main Chipset: CS7217 handles the core hub functions and video conversion.
· USB Controller: Features a Genesys GL3523 4-port USB 3.1 hub chip for high-speed lanes and a Genesys GL850 for the dedicated USB 2.0 peripheral ports.
· Ethernet Controller: Powered by the RealTek 8153 Gigabit controller, ensuring stable 1000Mbps wired performance.
Port Power & Data Management
· Shared USB Power: The total combined output for all USB-A and USB-C data ports is approximately 9W. Individual USB 3.0 ports can output up to 4.5W (5V/0.9A), while the USB-C data port is often limited to 2.5W (5V/0.5A).
· Power Delivery (PD) Overhead: While it supports 100W PD 3.0 input, the hub consumes about 10W–15W for its own operation. This results in a maximum safe pass-through to your laptop of 85W–90W.
· Card Reader Constraints: While it has two slots (SD and MicroSD/TF), it does not support simultaneous reading. Only the first card inserted will be recognized by the host system
